VP Operations
James joined Border States through the Shealy Electrical Wholesalers acquisition in 2016 where he was Vice President of Operations. James was promoted to Vice President Strategy Enablement and joined the Officers Council at Border States on April 1, 2017. He was promoted to Vice President of Operations on April 1, 2018, and to his current position as Senior VP Supply Chain November 1, 2020. James is responsible for delivering a highly innovative and effective supply chain that makes our customers better. He is a key leader in the organization for delivering efficiency, process improvement and has worked closely on integration projects and delivering maximum value on strategic projects.
With 30 years of distribution experience, James has worked in a variety of business roles that include inside sales, outside sales, national accounts, operations (branch and corporate level) and product strategy and marketing. These roles have allowed him to learn how to bring people together, drive efficiency and value by facilitating repeatable process, and prioritize and deliver maximum value to the people around him and the organization. This diversity of experience allows him to plan and solve business problems that benefit the whole organization.
James is a graduate of The Citadel with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is a veteran of the South Carolina National Guard, which has honored him with multiple awards for service and leadership.
