On March 7, Border States teamed up with 18 key vendors to put on the Border States Solutions and Technology Expo in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Over 175 people attended this free event held at the Marriott West.
The attendees were able to join a variety of technical training sessions that ran throughout the day. The training topics included dimming LED sources, LED controls, power quality and mitigating harmonics, lighting and BMS unification, AC drives, energy rebates, wire and cable solutions, arc flash safety, energy codes, NEC codes and UL code requirements. Those who attended the Energy Code class, instructed by Harold Jepsen, Vice President of Standards and Industry Affairs for Legrand, were also able to obtain AIA credits.
In addition to the technical sessions, a tradeshow ran from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Construction and industrial market vendors set up exhibits to demonstrate the latest in technology, products and solutions that their companies have to offer. Vendors included Belden, Encore, Molex, Acuity, GE Lamps, Leviton, Lutron, Legrand, DBI Sala/3M, Fluke Metering, Milwaukee Tools; Schneider Electric, Square D, Thomas and Betts, Hoffman Enclosures; Brady, Proface by Schneider Electric, and Littelfuse. Border States also had exhibit tables for communications, e-commerce and The Blade, our Northeast Region MRO demo truck.
